Branded Entertainment Network (BEN), the Bill Gates-owned advertising company that integrates brands into streaming and linear TV and film productions, has named a new CEO.
Ricky Ray Butler, who had been CCO of the company, will become CEO June 1. Gary Shenk, who is currently CEO of the firm, will become executive chairman.
Butler founded Plaid Social Labs, which BEN acquired in 2015.
BEN, which counts Microsoft, General Motors and Ubisoft as clients, also places brands on streaming services like Netflix that otherwise lack advertising, as Video Insider profiled earlier this year.
